Applications are now open until April 30, 2017 to join the third cohort of the McGill X-1 Accelerator!
Hosted by the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship, the McGill X-1 Accelerator is an intensive 10-week summer program designed to accelerate later-stage McGill startups towards investment readiness and launch. From June 5 to August 11, 2017 McGill X-1 startups will gain access to the McGill Dobson Centre network of mentors and entrepreneurs, be provided with a co-working space and receive funding, to help accelerate the growth of their startups.
What started out as a summer program in 2015 inspired by the MIT Martin Trust Center methodology of Disciplined Entrepreneurship, the McGill X-1 has grown to help over 35 founders develop their ventures. Whether you have a strong technical or non-technical background, the McGill X-1 has been developed to present all the steps necessary to get startups venture-ready by the end of the program.

Over the last two years, we have had entrepreneurs from various faculties at McGill participate in the 10-week program. Each one of them brought a unique perspective and set of skills. This year, we are looking for people who are willing to learn, are hustlers and want to have a BIG impact on their industry.
“Diversity is positively related to both idea generation and the implementation of ideas into new products or services”
One of the strengths of the McGill X-1 Accelerator is the tailor-made curriculum. Throughout the summer months, the McGill X-1 teams are connected with mentors in their respective industries, have access to private workshops and create deep connections with industry experts.

Leveraging McGill professors is also a substantial advantage. The cohort will be able to connect with world-class professors and researchers to test their hypothesis. The startups that will benefit the most from the program are the ones who have identified a problem with an addressable market. We will guide those startups to attain product-market fit by iterating through their business model.

The McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship is expanding its reach and influence outside of Montreal. Last year, we took our most promising McGill startups on a tour of Silicon Valley that culminated in McGill San Francisco Demo Day hosted in collaboration with the McGill Alumni Association of Northern California.

A couple of weeks later, McGill startups pitched in Boston at McKinsey & Co. in a room full of mentors, McGill alumni and investors. This year, the McGill X-1 Accelerator continues on a growth trajectory and we want driven and motivated entrepreneurs to be part of it.
